Description
Two-thirds god and one-third man, Gilgamesh rules Uruk badly enough that the gods build someone to stop him. Enkidu is made from clay and raised among animals, and when the two finally meet they wreck a city block fighting to a draw - and become inseparable. They kill a forest guardian together. They insult a goddess together. Then one of them dies, and the king who could not be beaten discovers the one thing he cannot out-fight. The rest is a man walking to the edge of the world to ask a question nobody has ever been answered.
