Description

At the edge of the sky there is a house, and in it an old woman sets the table every evening for a son who comes home exhausted and furious from crossing the world all day. She is the only one he listens to. So when a girl arrives at that door - having walked past the end of the map to beg a favour nobody has ever successfully begged - the Mother of the Sun hides her under a trough, feeds her son, waits until he is fed and calm, and then asks the question on the girl's behalf. The story turns on the oldest technique there is: ask him after dinner.
